Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is an Indian public sector enterprise engaged in the design, development, manufacture, repair, overhaul, upgrade, and servicing of aircraft, helicopters, aero-engines, avionics, accessories, and aerospace structures. The company operates through five complexes: Bangalore, MiG, Helicopter, Accessories, and Design, comprising 20 production divisions and 11 research and design centers across India. HAL produces a range of aircraft including HAWK, Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), SU-30 MKI, and helicopters such as Dhruv, Cheetah, and Light Combat Helicopter (LCH). It also manufactures avionics products and provides maintenance, repair, and operations services for aircraft and helicopters. The company utilizes indigenous research and enters into technology transfer agreements to manufacture its products. HAL has established several joint ventures and subsidiaries to expand its operations and capabilities in the aerospace sector.
