JSW Energy Ltd is a diversified energy company within the $12 billion JSW Group. It has an installed generating capacity of 6,564 MW, comprising 3,158 MW thermal, 1,358 MW wind, 1,391 MW hydro, and 657 MW solar power. The company operates two 400 KV transmission lines in joint venture with Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited. It has a 9 MTPA lignite mining capacity in Rajasthan through a joint venture with Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited. JSW Energy is involved in power generation, transmission, and trading. It also has interests in coal mining in South Africa and a joint venture with Toshiba Corporation for manufacturing supercritical steam engines. The company operates thermal power plants in various locations including Barmer, Vijayanagar, and Ratnagiri, as well as hydroelectric plants like Baspa and Karcham Wangtoo. In recent years, JSW Energy has expanded its renewable energy portfolio, acquiring and developing wind and solar projects.
