Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) is a recognized commodity derivatives exchange in India. It provides a platform for online trading, clearing, and settlement of commodity futures and options across segments including bullion, industrial metals, energy, and agricultural commodities. MCX operates as a demutualized exchange and received permanent recognition from the Government of India in 2003. The exchange is regulated by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and is ranked among the top global commodity futures exchanges. MCX offers trading in various commodity futures contracts and has launched options trading in several commodities. The company has established partnerships with international exchanges and educational institutions to improve trade practices and increase market awareness. MCX has also introduced commodity indices and expanded its product offerings over the years. Its subsidiary, Multi Commodity Exchange Clearing Corporation Limited (MCXCCL), provides clearing and settlement services for trades executed on the exchange.
